Over Halfway Through 2019: What You Need to Know About 2019 Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program Requirements
By Jim Tate – After numerous delays the MIPS final scores for the 2017 reporting year have been released. These scores are based on a foundation on four individual categories: Cost, Quality, Improvement Activities, and Promoting Interoperability.
On August 2, CMS issued the Fiscal Year 2020 Inpatient Prospective Payment System and the Long-Term Acute Care Hospital Prospective Payment System final rule.
CMS requires that all eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals use 2015 Edition certified electronic health record technology to meet the requirements of the Promoting Interoperability Programs.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services continues to update the Promoting Interoperability Programs website to include new and updated information to help participants succeed in the 2019 program year.
