HIT Committee Meetings, EHR Incentive Deadlines, Stage 3 Meaningful Use

The HIT Policy Committee’s Privacy and Security Tiger Team and HIT Standards Committee’s Privacy and Security Workgroup will host a Web Hearing on Credentialing Patients. November 30 is the Last Day for Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) to Register and Attest for an Incentive Payment in FY 2012. The last day that eligible hospitals and CAHs can register and submit attestation in fiscal year (FY) 2012 for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program is November 30, 2012. For eligible hospitals and CAHs, this means that they must successfully attest to meeting meaningful use to be eligible to receive an incentive payment for FY 2012.
ONC Mostashari is asking you to tell your health IT adoption story in the ONC 2012 Annual Meeting Video Challenge. Videos should be short 1-2 minutes and fall into one of these four categories:
- Adoption of Meaningful Use
- Using Meaningful use to improve quality and efficiency
- How health IT engaged patients
- How you, as a provider, have made privacy & security a priority
The deadline is December 11 at 3:00 pm EST. Winners in each category will be announced at The ONC Annual Meeting December 12, 2012. Upload your videos here.
The ONC’s HIT Policy Committee (HITPC) is currently developing Stage 3 meaningful use recommendations that will target a collaborative model of care with shared responsibility and accountability, and build upon previous meaningful use objectives. They are now requesting comments on the recommendations. The deadline for comments is 11:59 p.m. ET on January 14, 2013. Comments will only be accepted electronically. View the Request for Comments with details on submitting comments for stage 3 meaningful use. All submitted comments will be reviewed by the HIT Policy Committee and recommendations will be revisited in their 2013 first quarter meetings.
