NeHC and ONC Upcoming Events in February
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has a cooperative agreement with National eHealth Collaborative (NeHC) to provide stakeholders with timely and relevant information on health IT initiatives. As part of this agreement, the two regularly co-host free webinars and events to educate interested parties on some of the most pressing topics facing the industry. You can attend these two upcoming events.
Patients Improve the Accuracy of their Medical Records
Date: February 4, 2013, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm ET
Description: This program is a follow-up to the webinar “Keeping EHRs Error-Free: The Value of Patient Engagement”. In this program, we’ll discuss findings from an ONC funded evaluation of a pilot project at Geisinger Health System where patients were encouraged to provide feedback on their medication list within their EHR, in advance of patient visit. The results demonstrate that patients can be effectively engaged online to improve the quality of the information in the EHR. The presentation will also explore what the implications of the study are for policy makers and the healthcare community.
HIE Governance Town Hall
Date: February 14, 2013, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm ET
Description: Join Dr. Farzad Mostashari and senior staff at ONC for an open listening session on governance of health information exchange. This town hall will provide an opportunity for a wide range of stakeholders to describe their experience, practices, issues, priorities, and suggestions regarding HIE governance initiatives. Stakeholder input from this listening session will inform ONC activities and assist in advancing governance goals of nationwide health information exchange: increase interoperability, decrease the cost and complexity of exchange, and increase trust among participants to mobilize trusted exchange to support patient care.
