Sponsored Research Aims to Further Our Understanding of HIE
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) supports research on the many variables associated with health information exchange, (HIE). The research is intended to support the ONC’s State HIE Cooperative Agreement Program as well as other healthcare stakeholders including:
- HIE implementers
- Policymakers
- Health IT researchers
- Any party interested in gaining a better understanding of HIE
The five reports listed below cover a wide range of topics and provide case studies, best practices, guidance and more. The first report is the broadest, providing what the ONC says is a “how-to” guide for navigating the major business considerations facing an HIE including:
